In 1968 a young Italian couple living in Canada decided to make a go of the grocery business. With two children working alongside, they struggled through the fierce Toronto winters, selling the freshest produce, meats, hot bread and foods of their native Bari, Italy.
Today in Fresno, California, the Marziliano family continues to celebrate the traditions of Southern Italy. From the San Joaquin Valley and beyond, customers have come to know Sam’s Italian Deli and Market as their own door to Italy for the past 37 years.
From the aisles packed with imported Italian pastas, olive oils, and specialty groceries, to the kitchen where Angela bakes her bread and foccacia, the Marziliano’s share their passion for all things Italian.
At the deli counter, customers will find fresh cold cuts, imported cheeses, Angela’s take-home pasta dinners, specialty dishes and Sam’s homemade sausage.
During the past decade Nick Marziliano has added and continually expanded its specialty wine department. From the boutique style wines of California to the highly sought after, Super Tuscans, Barolo’s, and Brunellos di Montalcino produced in Italy to Argentinean Malbecs, Sam’s Italian Deli and Market is proud to present everyone with a collection of over 700 labels.
In the fast times where personal service is a thing of the past, you can still visit the past with a neighborhood store that invites everyone to be part of the family. The Marziliano family would like to thank everyone for their continued patronage.
